Thanksgiving 2009

Most of the Hassler Clan descended (or ascended since we had to go north) on St. Louis for Thanksgiving at Becky's (Burford's) house this year. It was a lot of fun and we hope we can do it again sometime in the future (but only after Claire learns to sleep in a hotel room).

We left Wednesday and stopped twice on our way at the always conveniently located (close to the interstate) Cracker Barrel. Good eats and interesting stuff to look at while Claire squeaks around the store to get rid of her "jimmy legs."

Thursday we spent the day at Becky's. Becky, Grandma and Grandpa cooked and slaved away in the kitchen. And created a wonderful Thanksgiving feast.

Claire was hungry and ready to eat. She wore her turkey bid, courtesy of Auntie Alison and a turkey hat.

She probably would have had better luck if we hadn't tied the one arm to her side . . .

After we stuffed ourselves merrily on the delicious food, we took a family picture.

After dinner, Blake provided with a trombone concert that he had been working on with songs that he had especially worked on for Claire. He is very talented and it sounded really nice. We all sang along as he played.
