Back from St. Louis . . .

and mama is pooped.

So I am afraid this first blog in almost four weeks is going to be brief. I hope it appeases a few and gets me off the hook until tomorrow (or the next day . . .)

We had an absolutely wonderful time in St. Louis for Thanksgiving at Becky's house. It was so fun to travel up there and spend the day with family. I will tell the tales of the complete trip in later posts but I will leave you with a couple of pictures so you can get your fix for now.

Here is one for the general Claire fans -

And one for Aunt Becky . . .

There will also be a brief blog in the future devoted to our recent move (just in case you are curious).

Fifteen Month Check-up

Claire had her fifteen month check-up appointment with the doctor today and Grammy escorted us to 1) meet the doctor and 2) (unbeknownst to her until time) to hold Claire while she got her shots (Mommy does not do that - Mommy is the post-shot relief). And everyone did really well! Claire didn't even cry until the second shot! Yay Grammy!

Claire weighs 25.5 pounds (95%) and she is 31 inches tall/long (65%).

The doctor said she is right on track and actually ahead of the game in many areas. She was quite impressed with her fine motor skills, how observant she is and some of her tricks. She was especially impressed when Claire took her shoe and got it half way on. She also said she is a tough cookie and not to be worried that she doesn't cry when she whacks her head or falls. And she also mentioned to "I" word . . . Independent . . . wonder where she got that.

All in all it was a good visit. Mom really liked Dr. I. so that makes two seals of approval from the grandmothers on the new pediatrician!

Here is a pic for a reward for reading the medical update. This was taken a couple of weeks ago when she was showing Cecelia her costume.

Happy Birthday Gramps!

Today is Gramps' (Grandpa Deal) Birthday. He turned 75! So we went over to spend the day with him and the rest of the family.

Yes, I made the cake and there is a story here but it isn't that interesting . . . the cake was cold and I made it from scratch so it was hard to cut and we all had a good laugh. . . there you got it out of me. But it tasted very good. Will probably taste better at room temperature though . . . learn something new every day . . .

And here is Clarie walking around in Thor's Ushanka providing the entertainment. And yes, she has the weasel and ball that she won't put down at their house. Surprising there is only one. They own two - one for each of Claire's hands. Maybe that is what is on her head . . .

Trick or Treat

Oh what a fun Halloween we had and baking a cake was just be beginning (see below). First we went to the hospital to see all of Daddy's friends. Then we went to Grandma & Grandpa. After a vacuuming extravaganza and a visit from Perry, we then went to Auntie Alison's and Cousin Thor's where Grammy and Gramps joined us for dinner. After passing out a few treats to the trick or treaters it was time to go home and go to sleep. What a day!

This is Claire's first official Trick or Treat!

We learned a few things about DRAGONFLIES too. Did you know if you ever hear them walk that they squeak ever step they take? AND that they like to vacuum? (I wonder if they do windows . . .)

Where did the Dragonfly go?

There she is!

A a view from the back because the wings are just so cool.

Happy Halloween!
