Life is Good

Claire in her favorite chair (always with her buddies), watching her favorite show (Little Bear), eating her favorite fruit (apple) just hanging out.

I don’t think she is asleep, I just caught her blinking.

As soon as she heard the camera . . . she gave me a smile!

Life isn’t just good, it’s great!

Clairzilla Strikes Plymouth

Claire just loves playing with her Thanksgiving Little People sets. There is a hey ride, Thanksgiving dinner complete with Pilgrims and Indians, and the Mayflower with Pilgrims and a Pirate! She has a lot of fun playing with them all and wearing the plattered turkey as a hat but I often wonder how much fun they actually have . . .

Playing nicely . . .

Auntie Alice Comes to Visit

Auntie Alice came for her annual visit to Fort Smith to check on her family last week.

1182We had dinner and late birthday cake for Gramp’s 76th birthday.

1205

Claire quacked for Auntie.

1200

Gramps (see finger bunny ears) turned her into a bunny . . .

1207

And they just had a general good time. Claire and Auntie Alice had a lot of fun during her visit.

1209

We all went to Monte Ne for lunch on Sunday . . .

1208

Claire liked it a lot, especially the bean soup.

Thanks for visiting us Auntie Alice! Claire loved her book. We can’t wait until you come see us next year!

Dinner with Friends

The Fuhrman’s came over for dinner a couple of Friday’s ago and we had a lot of fun. After dinner we all hung-out and played in the living room. The new chaise lounge was a big hit and kid magnet.

Hard Head

So I have my first major injury as a mommy (besides the birth surgery and other bumps along the way). But Claire broke my nose the other night when I was getting her out of the bathtub. Yes, you heard correctly, broken nose from two-year-old’s (and three months) hard head. She was sitting in my lap and just decided to clonk me and I heard a loud “CRACK!” Followed by panic, crying and some pain. We went the the ENT a couple of days later to have him check out her tubes and he confirmed that he thought there was a fracture and nothing to do except hold it over her in years to come. So I am mainly posting this for the record so it is in Claire’s baby book and one day she can know how lethal a hard head can be.

Halloween Ducky Style

So Claire was a duck for Halloween. Specifically Duck from Little Bear. Mommy made her costume.

005

Claire and Mommy posing before the big event!

011

First house! Grammy and Gramps!

014

Claire liked getting candy in her pumpkin.

016

Stopping for a pose.

027

Stopping by Auntie Alison’s to trick or treat.

038

A picture with Cousin Thor.

040

After stopping at Grandma and Pa’s to trick or treat, she went across the street to Perry’s. Here she is chasing leaves in Perry’s yard.

042

Mission accomplished. She had as many leaves as candy in her pumpkin by the end of the night.

043

Some final pics on the front porch after canvassing the neighborhood for treats with Hazel.

047

Another one with the Halloweenie décor.

050

Close-up of Daisy. She was a duck too.

Claire had a very fun time trick or treating and seeing everyone. I think she already wants to go around the neighborhood again.

Happy Halloween!

What a Difference a Year Can Make

Claire’s skeleton sweat suit was so big on her last year I kept it out to see if it would fit again this year. It was finally cold Saturday so we tried it on. And it fit, barely. (it is an 18-months!) But I’d say she has grown up quit a bit in the last year.
