We always had homemade birthday cakes that my daddy made us (and still do - see Boston Cream Pie in earlier post) growing-up. I remember an elaborate Mickey Mouse back in Atlanta with a Peppermint Patty nose that I still remember vividly and thought was so special because daddy made it. I always thought it was such a special thing he could do for us on our birthday so I wanted to carry on the tradition and we would make them for Claire. I am sure she will appreciate is more when she gets older. :)
This is Claire's 1st Birthday cake shortly after I finished it . . .
Claire liked to look at her cake but eating it was another story . . .
Oh, pretty . . .
Let me slam my hands into it . . .
What is this stuff on my hands ? ? ?
Quit trying to put that stuff in my mouth . . .
Maybe if I close my eyes it will go away . . .
Please take it away . . .
Trying to be more civilized with a plate isn’t going to do the trick . . .
Really, I said no thank you . . .
I think Hazel wants some . . .
Finally, some real food . . . hey wait a sec . . . what are these noodles doing here . . . so much for mac 'n cheese . . .
